CTMS X GERC

Capacity building program for researchers at the Gender Economic Research Center (GERC) in Kazakhstan

An online workshop was held for researchers from the Gender Economic Research Center GERC) in Kazakhstan. A total of 3 sessions were held. The first session focused on 'How to Collect Your Own Survey Data' (by Senior Researcher Jiweon Jun), the second session was 'Qualitative methods and Survey data collection' (by Senior Researcher Hyuna Moon), and the third session was 'When to Collect Your Own Data' (by Director of CTMS, Ki-soo Eun).

Participation at the Policy Forum on “Addressing the Challenges of Demographic Change: Drivers and Potential Solutions“

Under the theme of "Addressing the Challenges of Demographic Change: Drivers and Solutions," Ki-soo Eun, the head of The Population Association of Korea, attended the National Assembly Forum on Response to the Low Birth and Population Cliff hosted by the Presidential Committee on Ageing Society and Population Policy. He discussed how to adapt and cope with the challenges of low birthrate, aging, and caring for Korean society, which is undergoing unprecedented rapid demographic change.

In the traditional family system, ‘care’ was implicitly portrayed as a woman’s responsibility. Living in the year 2020, do we have no other option than a family system rooted in Confucian values and patriarchy? MOU Signing with the Design Institute, Inje University

CTMS signed an MOU with the Design Institute of Inje University in Gimhae, which studies care-friendly social design, for research cooperation. Considering the characteristics of Gimhae, where there are many migrants, we would also like to participate in research and activities for migrant women. 2019. 10. 21
